Egypt Mining Forum 2024
Under the patronage of Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Egyptian Mining Forum was held in its third edition in the presence of Shalateen Company.
- The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources opened the Egyptian Mining Forum on Tuesday, 07/16/2024 at ten in the morning, where he expressed his great happiness at attending and representing the forum, which is attended by representatives of mining companies, services, and local and international companies. He gave an opening speech for the forum that reflects the extent of the Ministry’s interest in the mining sector and workers. He also pointed out the need for cooperation between the Egyptian government and investors in the field of mining to advance this sector, with attention to training and raising the efficiency of workers in mineral resources.
- He opened the forum's exhibition and inspected the companies participating in this important event, which work in the field of mining resources and the service companies that carry out drilling work, exploration production equipment.
- Shalateen Mineral Resources Company, represented by Mr. Geologist Sherif El-Shahawy, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Geologist/Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Abd-Elmegeed Mohamed Abd-Elmegeed, and representatives of the company participated in all of the forum’s programs over the Days of Tuesday and Wednesday, where geologist Sherif El-Shahawy participated in a special session on artisanal mining and discussed the conditions of its workers all over the world and the contribution of these individuals to the national income. He pointed out that Shalateen Company has legalized the conditions of workers in artisanal mining by establishing companies and working to legalize their conditions and their commitment to environmental controls, in addition to the company starting to implement an integrated services industrial complex in the Dehmit area in Aswan.
- In the coming days, Shalateen Company will announce the result of the international bid-round No. 1 for the year 2023 for the areas of Barramiya and Hamata, which were closed in April 2024.
- The company's president announced that they are currently in the process of announcing new international bid-round for gold exploration and associated minerals in five areas of ancient mines, namely Fatiri on the Qena-Safaga road, Umm Aoud, Hangaliya, and Atud on the Edfu-Marsa Alam road, in addition to the Umm al-Tiur area and the Sega and Shashouba area in Wadi Allaqi.
- Mr. Geologist, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shalateen Company, and Mr. Dr., Head of the Desert Research Center, in the presence of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, signed a cooperation protocol to carry out community development for Shalateen Company’s concession areas, including water wells, agricultural development, and others.
- Shalateen Company participated in three research papers by Dr. Mahmoud El-Moghazi, geologist Hassan Reda, and Dr. Tariq Sedqi. These research papers are related to geological and geophysical studies of several regions in the Eastern Desert, making Shalateen Company the best representative of the forum in the lectures held at the forum.
- The Shalateen Company exhibition received several local and foreign companies wishing to invest in the company’s concession areas, especially since these areas are among the best mines that were exploited in ancient Egypt in different eras, as they have important geological properties and the presence of gold ore in their rocks, in addition to the strategic importance of those areas and their proximity to water sources , Urban areas and others.
